It’s October, are you ready for Christmas? I mean, Happy Halloween. I know it can be frustrating to go into the store mid-October and see Christmas lights taking over the skeletons. Does anyone even know where Thanksgiving went? But, in the fall the holidays roll on one right after the other and a bed and breakfast has just got to keep up!
As a business owner who literally starts planning for one Christmas decorating season over a year before, I’ve just got to say it’s a necessary thing. Yes, that’s right before Christmas 2025 was even happening I was making plans for Christmas 2026. I’m drawing up ideas, looking through stores and planning away. Some things are a Holiday tradition but all things have a little twist each year just to keep it fresh. Our home’s outside keeps a traditional design of roping and wreaths each year. The stairwell gets a different garland according to my mood. The library will be adding a new 10 foot tree this year….that I bought last year. One of the most fun rooms is the entry where you are greeted by a winter wonderland surprise each year.
I typically head to the attic in September to release my Halloween and fall decorations from the darkness. Soon they will be the focus of decorations both inside and out. But I have to admit the whole time I’m pulling out those tubs filled with skeletons, pumpkins and witches hats, I’m gazing longingly at the Holiday decorations I crave the most. So enjoy the antics of the three skeleton kids while it lasts because come November, they are headed back to the attic.
