Rates & Reservations Policies:
All rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes. Rates are per night for double occupancy and do not include North Carolina and local sales and occupancy taxes.
Reservation information:
Reservations are required (no walk ins) at least 4 days in advance and are made directly on our website or via phone. A first-night non-refundable deposit plus applicable taxes are required to secure your reservation and will be charged to the Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express card provided. The remainder of your balance is due two days in advance and will be charged to the credit card on file. Your reservation is not confirmed until your deposit has been successfully processed. An automatic confirmation will be sent by our reservation system to the email you provide. We understand that any travel plans can suddenly be interrupted or need to be canceled.
We are a small business and unfortunately cannot provide refunds on room reservations. Therefore, we strongly recommend travel insurance for any and all travel. Many reputable travel insurance companies can be found online, so you can search for the one that works best for you. The peace of mind it will bring you is well worth the minimal cost.
Weekend nights require a two-night booking. Weekend nights include a Thursday & Friday or a Friday & Saturday and must be booked together. There are no check-ins on Saturdays. Holiday or special event weekends may include additional night requirements.
Be aware when booking a room that our establishment is a direct booking company, and we do not take any reservations through third-party websites such as Booking.com, Expedia, HotelTonight, or Airbnb, etc.
Check-In & Check-Out:
Check-ins are scheduled from 4pm to 7pm on the day of your arrival. Please let us know if you need to arrange for a later arrival time.
We will text message or call you the day before your arrival to confirm your arrival time. It is rare that we can accommodate an early check-in, but we are always happy to store baggage with advance notice. Please call to make baggage arrangements 24 hours in advance of your arrival.
Check-out is any time before 11am on the morning of your departure.
If you need to leave before breakfast is served, please let us know before 6pm the night before and we will be happy to prepare a light breakfast to take with you. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate late check-outs.
Cancellation Policy:
At Banks Bed and Breakfast, we understand that life sometimes happens causing well thought out plans to unexpectedly change. We make many preparations, including purchases and scheduling our staff, based on reservations. Cancellations affect us greatly as a small business, and therefore you must agree to the following cancellation policy at the time of booking:
If your plans change after your reservation is confirmed and you booked directly through our website or via phone, cancellation notice is required 30-days in advance of your arrival date. With this advance notice, we will refund your credit card deposit minus a $30.00 cancellation fee, per room reserved. The $30.00 cancellation fee also applies to changes to your arrival/departure date that result in a shorter stay.
Reservations canceled less than 30-days prior to your arrival date will be charged in full, unless your room(s) are re-booked by another party. We will make every effort to re-book your room(s) and will refund any room(s) we are able to re-book minus a $50 cancellation fee per room reserved.
Banks Bed and Breakfast does not take responsibility for changes to your reservation due to inclement weather, unforeseen changes to travel plans, personal sickness or injury, or family emergencies.
We highly encourage guests to consider purchasing trip insurance in the event an emergency arises that impedes your travel plans. All canceled reservations, regardless of notice or reason, will be charged a $30.00 minimum cancellation fee.
No refunds are provided for late arrivals, early departures, no-shows, or weather-related cancellations.

Breakfast and Benefits:
Your room rate includes a full breakfast served each morning between 8am and 9:30am. We make every effort to accommodate dietary restrictions. Please make sure you inform us of any dietary requirements when you make your reservation. We cannot, however, guarantee that cross contamination between foods will not happen but will make every effort to prevent this. If you are leaving early please let us know the night prior, so we can prepare a travel breakfast for your journey home. You will have use of spacious indoor and outdoor common areas, free high-speed Internet access, EV charging stations (available by appointment), and off-street parking. Video Surveillance:
Cameras are used throughout our outside areas only including parking, porches, and walkways for security purposes. It is our intention to keep you and your property safe while on-site. Please know that our camera system is recording but NOT actively monitored. Please lock your car and do not leave valuables unattended. All guests have a responsibility to keep rooms secured and report any concerns you have to the innkeepers.
Additional Guests & Children:
Only two guests per room. We cannot allow for additional beds, air mattresses, or children’s bedding in the guest rooms. Children over the age of 16 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult family member and count as a guest in the room. For your safety and in case of an emergency, all guest names must be listed on the reservation.
Pets:
Although we love animals, we cannot accommodate pets. We will, however, accommodate registered service animals. Please understand that upon your arrival you will need to provide a States Service Animal Permanent Registration that has been stamped with the registration number.
Smoking:
Banks Bed and Breakfast is a non-smoking, non-vaping, non-candle & non-incense property. For the health and safety of our guests smoking, vaping, candles or incense is not permitted inside the house or on and around the porches. Due to the age of our historic home, it is very important to never use any kind of candle, lighter, or flame device inside or around our building. Thank you for helping to keep everyone safe. (A minimum $250 cleaning fee is imposed for smoking and vaping in the restricted areas.)
Food:
It is important to know that no cooked foods or prepared meals can be eaten in the guests’ bedrooms. If you order take out, please let us know if you would like to use the dining room, and we will be happy to make it available for you. Unfortunately, by law we are only allowed to serve breakfast to our registered guests.
Damage:
In the rare event that a room or its contents are damaged due to guests’ extreme negligence, we will assess a cleaning or replacement charge equal to the cost of repairs or replacement. Lost key charges of $50.00 will be assessed at checkout.
Violation of these policies or flagrant disrespect to other guests may result in the need to find other accommodations with no refunds considered.

COVID-19 and Health Updates:
We understand that travel plays an important role in our lives and that COVID-19 has affected how we make travel decisions. This challenge requires all of us to shift how we do business and live our day-to-day lives. We re-evaluate our policies as the City and State update any health mandates. We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to help with any possible losses associated with changed or canceled travel plans.
