You know how it feels when you walk back into your home after a long time away and you feel a sense of “this is what I need”. Most of us like to explore new places, go on great adventures, and get away from the norm. But I bet many of us also very much appreciate the feeling of comfort that routine gives to us. Whether it’s your snuggle blanket, comfortable lounging pants, a favorite coffee mug, or that super comfortable chair that seems to just wrap around you, those comforts are hard to beat. All the comforts of home are what you need and that is why you have them. Home makes you feel safe and comfortable.
As bed and breakfast owners we work hard to make your experience wrap you up with a sense of home. We want you to be comfortable snuggling up with a good book in the library, sitting on the porch with your morning coffee, and even walking around the neighborhood. We want breakfast to be fulfilling and delicious and want you to relax knowing you don’t have to make it. There is a constant striving for the most comfortable beds, the right amount of blankets, and making sure the room can be as dark as you need. Knowing when to step in with conversation and knowing when to quietly step around you is a balance for which we strive. Our goal is to make our home comfortable so you feel like you can come and go as you please and know that you are welcome each time you step back through the door.
As you plan your next stay away from home, think about the feeling that you want to come “home” to after the tours of your visit. Consider staying at a bed and breakfast where a version of home away from home is sure to be found. I often wonder if our returning guests stay with us because there is a feeling of coming home? Whatever the reason for your first or returning visit we hope that each time you walk through the door you get that sense of “this is what I need”.
